Mobile Wiki Server - Browser

for iPhone

This Product is no longer offered.

The Browser Screen lets you view, interact with, and edit Wiki pages. It uses the same technology as Safari so any Mobile Safari compliant HTML can be rendered, and any documents that Safari would render inline will be shown.

At the top of the screen we have a navigation bar which contains a Save button to allow for explicit saves, the URL text entry field which shows the current URL and allows you to enter a URL, and finally the Status button that takes you to the Status Screen.

As mentioned on the Startup Screen the image to the left has an active Status button, the Save button is inactive, and the lower status field text string reads “Idle”. Which means you can navigate to the Status Screen, saving the Wiki is not required, and the Wiki is idle/sleeping.

If you interact with the screen such as tapping one of the hyper links the bottom status area will change to “Responding” as it serves you the requested Wiki page. If you are connected to a WiFi network the upper status bar activity icon will rotate, however this does not happen if you are not connected to a WiFi network.

The status area can also change to “Responding” if the Wiki serves a page to a user that is browsing your Wiki from another device.

The two arrow icons “back” and “forward” will come active if you can navigate back or forward in a set of viewed pages, this provides the same behaviour as you have in the Safari application.

Problems?

If you do not have internet access then attempting to navigate to an external site will give you an error like so:
